I too would say the 883 will provide you with the best gas mileage.
    On the Harley-Davidson website.
45 mpg to 60 mpg for the 883.
42 mpg to 57 mpg for the 1200.
Please note that all Harley-Davidsons require a minimum of 91 octane. Generally that will cost you an extra 20 cents extra per gallon.
    Good Luck

I don’t want to catch any weird diseases going on their website, but just using common sense, the model with the smallest CC engine is going to get the best mileage. It can also depend on how you ride.
I have to say, you’re the first person I’ve ever seen looking into a Harley for gas mileage. Buying a bike with a reasonable price tag and a sub-600cc engine will save you MUCH more money.

883 sportster. It gets around 60 MPG. I have a friend that got 67 MPG with it. I have a honda rebel that gets 90 MPG and a 125 Kaw Eliminator that always gets 110 MPG. However, neither of those are good for the highway. The Harleys tend to get better gas milage than the Japaness. That is due mainly to the low rpm power of the harleys. The japanees bikes like to rev and that eats your gas milage.

Ok, even though this is trolling question, I’ll bite….
The sporty’s get around 60 if you keep it off WOT
The big twins (softails, dyna’s) get 45 or 50 or so…
The big ol’ touring bikes (all the Glide’s) get up to 45 at best
Taking into consideration the price of of my bike, the price of gasoline is the least of my worries.

Couple late model Sporty riders say they get 60/65 mpg at highway speeds- this is on the newer fuel injected models. 50mpg claimed by the later injected big twins. .
