Question by Derk S: I wanna put a supercharger on my 99 F-150 XLT extended cab long bed and make a lightning……?
I want to get the supercharger and i know the lightning and the harley davidson fords use the one that i need however. I also think i need to either change or reprogram the ECU to get it to run right is reprograming a option or would it be easier to just switch the ECU with one out of the lightning. I also herd i could use one out of a Crown Vic Police cruiser i dont know but eventuially i wanna get the ground effects and maybe even a air ride system for my suspention but first thing first what would be the best way to go about my ECU problem

Your best bet would be to get the supercharger( Im pretty sure youll need the bigger injectors and MAF too) install it, make sure the truck runs, then trailer it to someone who has a dyno and can re flash your ECU.

In that case you’ll also want the forged crank and rods, and low compression pistons that the Lightnings came with.

You’ll want/need a custom dyno tune to make sure the engine doesn’t grenade when you install the supercharger. A new ECU won’t be be needed, when you have the truck dyno tuned, a proper ECU tune will be installed on your existing ECU.
