I want to know if all Harley Davidsons need to have indicators installed on them? If not up to what year does the bike have to be to not have them?

1/1/72 in michigan
It varies.
In New Hampshire: Model year 1973 and earlier.
In TX and probably some other states the law say that your bike doesn’t have to have turn indicators (because you can use hand signals) but if your bike has them they have to work or you can be ticketed.
In Pennsylvania if you don’t have turn signal on your bike It’s not illegal, you simply must use hand signals.
For inspection purposes if it came on the bike it must work.
Federal Law for turn signals on motorcycles is 1973 and up, that includes Harleys.
People do not run signals because they think it is “cool”, and my opinion is that letting a car run into your back end (not knowing you are turning) is not cool.
in any state in the u.s. bikes before 1973 do not have to have turn signals. many were optional, therefore not required.
you have to check with your state dmv elvis it varys from state to state.if you have them they have to work to pass inspection but in my state they will pass it if you take them off.
how come no one ever see’s you unless they’ve been drinking?
California: Your motorcycle needs turn signals to be street legal.
Depends where you are, standard road laws say that any “road worthy” vehicle say any vehicle must be fitted with indicators. Bicycles are an exception, where appropiate hand signals are to be given.
